Unidentified Couple collects €15 Million Euromillions Jackpot

A couple who wishes to remain unidentified have finally gone and collected their €15 million Euromillions jackpot that they won earlier this month. According to the National Lottery, the unidentified couple collected the winnings from the company’s offices in Dublin.

The couple had bought their winning €9 quick pick ticket for the lottery draw held on July 4th at the Abbey Stores, Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary. But nobody had claimed the prize till Monday. This is the second time that the Euromillions lottery jackpot has been won in Ireland.

Though there have been many rumors surrounding the identity of the secret winners in Carrick-on-Suir and the surrounding area, the duo’s identity may now never be known as it is their wish to remain anonymous.

Paula McEvoy, the Public Relations manager for the National Lottery, said: “A family of two people came to our office and collected their prize this morning. The lottery is very happy that someone from Ireland has won the Euromillions. We are also happy for the town of Carrick-on-Suir.”

The PR manager added, “We were confident that someone would come and collect their winning amount after the win got a huge amount of publicity in the Country. This is the second big win.”

The latest win came a week after a 16 member syndicate won Irelands largest Jackpot of almost €19 million. That win consisted of 15 men from the concrete and quarry plant in Bennekerry, Co Carlow, and a former female employee. Dolores McNamara still remains the country’s biggest lottery winner, after winning €115 million in the Euromillions in 2005.
