Powerball Jackpot Rises to $62 Million
The Powerball jackpot has rose to an astronomical $62 million. In last Saturday’s draw no one won the jackpot, however one lucky winner in the town of Norton won $600,000. Another ticket in Missouri won the same amount.
The numbers that were drawn on Saturday were; 18, 24, 33, 47, 48 and the Powerball was 23.
However there was some good news for the residents of the town of Norton as one of them picked up a winning $600,000 Powerball ticket over the weekend. Julie Charest of the Norton Country Store said that she did not know who bought the ticket, but 75% of her lottery customers are Canadians. She added that she would like to tell the customer that they had won the prize. This win is the second big Powerball prize recently in Vermont. Earlier this month a winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Williston. That win was the largest Powerball win in the state.
Though there was no jackpot awarded on Saturday evening, there was another winning ticket that matched all 5 numbers with the Power Play and won $600,000 cash. In addition, 475,561 tickets across the nation won a total of $4,480,248 in prizes. The cash option for the August 27th draw will be an estimated $30.3 million.
In other prizes that were awarded on Saturday evening, twenty-seven tickets that matched 4 numbers plus the Powerball won $10,000. Two other tickets at this prize level were purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 3 times to $30,000 each.
